HOW TO USE THIS PIECE

The Old Ark's a-Moverin'

A Classic!  In this three-part arrangement the "Old Ark" really rocks & rolls (as the lyrics say).  Walter Ehret takes the singers through several key changes and arrives at some really cool harmonies.  Part III, written in the bass clef, is intended to be sung by cambiatas and adolescent baritones combined, but Part II is also within the cambiatas overall range, so they should be assigned to the part best suited to each boy's individual comfortable singing tessitura. The main melody is often in Part II, so more singers may be needed for that part.  The three-part variable voicing chart indicates how to use the piece with different age groups.
