A Word to the Singers:

I'm Gonna Ride is a novelty, nonsacred version of the old African-American Spiritual, Ride the Chariot.  Instead of a chariot, the singers get to choose the modern vehicle in which they would like to ride.  Following is a very comprehensive list of vehicles, motored and unmotored, which have been used in the world over the centuries.  Use your imagination and choose the one that intrigues you the most.  When you sing the arrangement place the name of the vehicle where the asterisks appear.  The rhythm at that point will vary according to the number of syllables in the name of the vehicle you choose.  Simply sing it the way you would say it.  You can also choose to sing  "my" or "the" when referring to your vehicle, and since people ride "on" some vehicles and "in" others, make the correct choice in that case for the vehicle you choose.
