Alleluia
from Cantata No. 142

The vocal parts to this masterwork are very
easy and well within the capabilities of early adolescent singers. In
reality, this is a piano piece with vocal accompaniment in a similar style as
Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring except more resplendent, so the
featured pianist should be accomplished. It may also be performed with a
harpsichord, as desired.
The vocal ranges are best suited for an
all-male chorus but it may be performed by a mixed group as well. Access the
Three-part Variable Voicing Chart to
ascertain the different voicings that are available to various age groups.
