PERFORMANCE INSIGHTS

Alleluia

from Cantata No. 142

(Click the title to view and hear online)

The vocal parts to this masterwork are very accessible for early adolescent singers.  In reality, this octavo is a keyboard work with vocal accompaniment, similar in style to Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, although more resplendent. An accomplished keyboardist (piano or harpsichord) is required.

The vocal ranges fit an all-male early adolescent chorus, but it could be performed by a mixed group as well.

Music: J. S. Bach (1685-1750) from Cantata No. 142

Arranger: Bob Siltman
