HOW TO USE THIS PIECE

Alleluia

from Cantata No. 142

(Click the title to view and hear online)

The vocal parts to this masterwork are very easy and well within the capabilities of early adolescent singers.  In reality, this is a piano piece with vocal accompaniment in a similar style as Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring except more resplendent, so the featured pianist should be accomplished.  It may also be performed with a harpsichord, as desired.

The vocal ranges are best suited for an all-male chorus but it may be performed by a mixed group as well.  Access the Three-part Variable Voicing Chart to ascertain the different voicings that are available to various age groups.
