HOW TO USE THIS PIECE

Hail the King of Heaven

(click the title to view and hear online)

This work was arranged by Walter Ehret, one of the most prolific arrangers of choral music in the history of American music education.  Under various pseudonyms (and his own name) he arranged for most of the major publishers over a 50 year period.  He was a pioneer in educational music publishing and a man with great talent.  He was one of the first arrangers to use SAB voicing.  The Polish Carol was initially set for SAB voices, but it has been edited to be suitable for both SAB and SCB.  Those boys whose voices have just begun to change may be happier singing Part II which is better suited to their range.  Optional notes have been added to Part III to accommodate boys for whom the comfortable singing range is either too high or too low.

Access the three-part variable voicing charts to view the options that are available.

OR

 2.  Click the "Hear Choir Audio" link (upper right hand corner) to hear a choral ensemble sing the piece.  Use the Sibelius "page" icon to move the pages of the engraved copy manually as you listen.  Do not click the "play" icon while the ensemble is singing or you will hear both renditions simultaneously.
