HOW TO USE THIS PIECE

Three Proverbial Loves

(click title to view and hear online)

Set in the style of a choral song cycle, this piece contains three proverbs about love.  The music is unique in that there are just three different pitches (soh, lah & mi) and the rhythm consists of only eighth notes and quarter notes and rests.  These simple musical components  are rounded off with  contrasting dynamic levels and canonic melodic treatment for a aesthetically satisfying listening experience.

Check the three-part variable voicing charts to see the voicing options with which it may be used with older adolescents and adults.  If you use The Adolescent Reading Singer to teach musicianship, this piece is appropriate literature to sing after studying phase two.
