Two-part     Three-part

This Train is an American folk song kin to both the African-American spiritual and the county-gospel genre.  It has no direct reference to God, but it speaks of a train that is bound for gloryThe three-part setting is one of Bob Siltman's most popular arrangements.  It is now available in both two and three parts.  In the two-part setting, Part I is appropriate for Boy Trebles and/or Cambiatas (boys in the first phase of change).  Part two is written in the bass clef and is limited to the comfortable singing area of changing voice Baritones (the second phase of change) of D-D (above and below middle C).   In the three-part voicing, Part I is for Cambiata; Part II for Adolescent Baritone I;  and Part III for Adolescent Baritone II.

The piece may be used with mixed groups as well.  See the two-part or three-part variable voicing chart.
