CHORAL SERIES

African-American Spirituals are favorites of almost everyone.  Nothing stirs the emotions more than a spiritual performed well.  This choral series features spirituals written in variable voicing so they all may be sung by several different kinds of choral groups.  In each of the parts, consideration is given to the range and tessitura limitations of adolescent changing voices so they are great for mid-level singers.  Conversely, the four-part mixed pieces are equally as appropriate for SSAB adult choirs as they are for SSCB mid-level singers.

PLEASE NOTE:

The comfortable singing tessitura for some parts in these pieces and the ones recommended for mixed choirs  may be too low for adolescent male-treble and female-treble voices.  This occurs primarily when a part has been deemed singable by both trebles and cambiatas.  Many of the parts recommended for these two voices lie within a suitable range of both, however it is advisable to check the individual compositions when you view them online before purchasing them.  This applies to the voicings marked with an asterisk.
