Phase 2    The pieces for phase 2 have three pitches; So, Mi, & La and two rhythm complexities; two eighth notes, quarter note and quarter rest all in 2/4 meter with treble clef.

Phase 4    Added to the three previous phases are the dotted half note, the eighth, quarter, eighth note pattern, bass clef, and 3/4 meter.  The melodic addition is one new syllable: high Do'.
